Premier Plus+
Minimum Essential Coverage – All companies with 50+ full time employees provide coverage for certain types of wellness and preventative care. This is also known as Minimum Essential Coverage or MEC.
MVP
Minimum Value Plan – The second requirement is that employers must offer an affordable Minimum Value Plan Employers do not have pay the entire cost. This plan offers substantial coverage for inpatient hospitalization and physician services and the plan’s share of the total allowed costs of benefits is at least 60%
A company with 50+ employees that fails to provide ACA-compliant plans is subject to penalties:
TAX
Large employers who fail to offer Minimum Essential Coverage to at least 95% of full time employees and dependents may be subject to a penalty of $2,570 per full time employee minus the first 30.
TAX
Large employers who fail to offer an affordable Minimum Value Plan are subject to an annual penalty of $3,860 per full time employee enrolled in a subsidized plan through the government exchange.
